Summer reading is back! Welcome to Trail of Stories: Adventure Begins!
The goal of our summer program is to earn 1000 points before the program ends. You can earn those points by reading books, coming to library programs, or completing activities. Once you earn 500 points, you’ll get to choose a fun benchmark prize, and once you get all 1000 points, you’ll get a finisher prize, as well as the choice of a grand prize drawing to enter your name into! Participants between the ages of 6 and 12 will also be entered into a drawing for their name to be sent to Maranda (yes, from TV!) for a chance to win one of the awesome prizes she’s offering this year.
If you’re just too fast and you get all 1000 points before summer is over, or you can’t choose a single grand prize drawing to be entered into, don’t worry! You can keep participating in summer reading by picking up a Super Readers ticket. You just have to read some more books, and you can enter that ticket into another grand prize drawing!
As we said earlier, though, reading is just one way to earn points for summer reading. You can also get some by attending any of our awesome programs! Make sure you pick up a calendar to see what great things we have coming, including our special programs from guests Broadway Bootcamp, Drumming with Dede, John Ball Zoo, Stormy's Foam Party, and Brad Lancaster. (Funding for Stormy's Foam Party and Brad Lancaster is provided in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.)
Trail of Stories: Adventure Begins is for people of all ages and all abilities. Whoever you are, whatever you read, or however you read it, you have an opportunity to win some incredible prizes, so make sure you get your reading log! You have until the library closes on Friday, August 2nd to earn as many points as you can and turn your log and/or Super Readers Ticket(s)in at the circulation desk.
